article. Originally a trio named by Joe Meek ( iconic rock n roll producer of
Telstar fame )
They acted as a house band on many of his recordings as well as opening for the
Rolling
Stones in the 60's. Original Drummer Rick Winter now performs with a new five
piece line
up, which includes singer Paul Neon. The saints shows are a blend of comedy and
straight
vocals expertly handling songs from the 50's through the 60's to rock n roll.
they have an
established reputation throughout East Anglia and are renowned for their Tribute
to the late
Great Billy Fury, performed by Paul neon who is regarded as one of the best
Tributes in the
country. All members of the band have either been members of or appeared with
such artists

Billy. G. Born
in Cambridge. and is fairly well known around the Cambridgeshire area as a solo
artist. After entertaining in Spain for a few years Billy decided to come
back to England to pursue a solo career. It was then that Paul asked Billy
to join the Saints. Billy has been with the Saints for 6 years now.
Nigel Fear
Nigel Was Born in
Cambridge and started a professional career at the age of sixteen.
Progressing through Rock and Roll Bands to Rock, Pop, Country, and Cabaret.
Nigel had been living in Ibiza for twenty one years before returning to
Cambridge. Nigel has backed /Played with many top artists over the years
including Billy Fury, The Drifters, The Platters, The Four Tops, Clem Curtis
of the Foundations. Jerry Donahue ( Fairport Convention)
to name but a few. Now he has joined the Saints. ( Welcome on board )
A Brief History of the Saints
The saints were put together back in the 60s. Tab Martin ( ex tornado
) Roy Phillips ( Downlands ) & Rick Winter ( Cliff Bennett & The Rebel
Rousers ) This trio was named by
Joe Meek. Apart from being the backing group for the Joe Meek star Heinz the
Saints also released records in their own right. Two singles were released on
the Pye Record Label in 1963, These were Wipe Out /
Midgets & Husky Team / Pigtails, as well as having a hit in 1963 with Heinz
and the song Just Like Eddie. You can listen to the original recordings of the Saints with
